12/11/2022 - Second Place at the Amiga Art Contest 2022!
What can I say?
Participating in the
Amiga Art Contest 2022 was something completely unexpected for me, as it was
suggested by a guy who follows my artistic works with Lightwave 3D on Commodore
Amiga.
After a few days of reflection this summer, I decided to write to the organizer
of the exhibition to submit a couple of works, 'Ocean
of Time,' and, of course, 'A wall that divides us.'
So, I waited for a few months, to the point that I had even forgotten that I had
entered. Upon waking up on a Sunday morning after a night at a cabin with
friends, I read a message of congratulations on one of the Amiga groups I am a
member of, along with an attached YouTube video. I had reached the second place
with the 3D ray-tracing graphic 'A wall that divides us,' as mentioned above.
It was more of a satisfaction because the participation was international, and
it had been years since I last took part in any artistic event. As they say,
it's never too late to start again! I find creating images with graphics
workstations from other 'eras' fantastic, maybe because I lived through those
early years and even though I was very young at that time, I was already
involved in various graphic contexts of that period. Then, the life of
adolescence takes you in different directions, but for some years now, I have
resumed and plan to continue for a long time.
Until today, I have collected several retro Commodore machines with substantial
investments. I can say that I love art in general, pencil drawing, and more
recently, PixelArt on the glorious Commodore 64. However, when you embark on a
path, you always venture elsewhere and go beyond. So now I am working on more
classic artworks done with brushes, some vintage (1800) paintings that I am
accumulating, created by a couple of artists of whom I hope to have all the
existing pieces. Well, I'm digressing now, but it's to emphasize that every
creation has my respect, as long as the author's imagination emerges and not
mere copying! Art creates and never copies anything.
To get back on track and conclude, I'm not sure if I will participate in other
exhibitions, but I will definitely continue to create, as I always do everything
out of passion. When I feel inspired by something, I try to manifest it. By the
way, I managed to get hold of a rare copy of Lightwave 3D 5.0 on Amiga in an
American auction!
At some point, I would like to open an art gallery somewhere in my area (whenever
I see one around, I always stop to observe it closely) containing all my
creations, maybe in the next decade when I have accumulated many and many works,
of course, after completing the ongoing projects. Who knows?
Below is the image 'A wall that divides us,' the
second place winner of the Amiga Art Contest 2022:
Furthermore, I add the other submission for participation but not selected, 'Ocean of Time':
I can't understand the pattern of things. Sometimes, significant events appear shortly after others, almost as if everything has a purpose, but I can't see it. Even this second-place achievement at the Amiga Art Contest comes suddenly in a period full of 'things'!!! It's difficult to perceive the exact matrix of events; I increasingly believe in fate, in destiny, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm just doing what I love, what fulfills me! That's all.

I can conclude by providing the link to the page where all my Lightwave 3D creations with Commodore Amiga are showcased. Here is the link: [insert link here] http://www.bertinettobartolomeodavide.it/graficadigitale/amiga/amiga.html
